Undulating Soweh vase hand-thrown from local clay and wood-fired by artisans in Sierra Leone. The wood firing results in surface variation in texture and finish. The makers work together with Aurora Foundation, a non-profit organisation which has been working with the creative and entrepreneurial sector in Sierra Leone for over a decade. Aurora Foundation, in partnership with the Sierra Leone Adult Education Association (SLADEA), has been working with the pottery centre since 2017. With improvements to the facilities and expert-guided pottery training, the pottery centre has become a vibrant contributor to the local creative economy. The pottery centre is located in Waterloo, about a one-hour drive from Freetown.

Each ceramic piece has been thrown or pressed and glazed by hand. Due to the handmade nature, there may be pleasing variations and irregularities in colour, size and shape.
